#15 JIM WISWELL Inducted 1997. “Wiz” was one of the sport’s most overpowering forwards during a decorated career that began in Minnesota in the middle 1970’s. Jim played in a remarkable 29 open finals from 1977-80 winning 19 times including victories at the World Championships in 1979 in open doubles and 1980 in mixed doubles. Jim and his steady partner Doug Furry claimed the first Super Doubles title in 1978. Wiswell who passed away in 1981 had one of the fastest, most powerful pull shots in the history of the sport and could be a very intimidating opponent. |
