INDEPENDENT FOOSBALL PROMOTIONS (IFP) ANNOUNCES THE $30,000
Lexington, KY – All around the world athle=
tes
are training, conditioning and studying each other's moves in preparation f=
or a
very unique sports competition: the Kentucky State Table Soccer
Championships. To be held Aug=
ust
3-6 at the Holiday Inn North at 1950 Newtown Pike in Lexington, this event =
is
expected to draw over 400 table soccer (a.k.a. "foosball") player=
s,
including members of the U.S. National Team. The tournament will include catego=
ries
for men, women and children from beginner to Master, and will additionally
feature the “foosball” events of the Blue Grass Summer Games.

Now recognized as an International Table Soccer Federation (ITSF) Ma=
ster
Series event, the annual Kentucky tournament has even been elevated to
international tour status. Th=
is
means the competition is likely to draw match ups between top American play=
ers
such as defending champion and USA #1-ranked Billy Pappas, 21, of Lowell, MA and
other U.S. Team members against National Team members from Canada, Ireland,
Germany, the United Kingdom and more.
Players at the Master levels will compete not only for cash and priz=
es
at the event, but also for qualifying points to compete at the ITSF World
Series Masters Championships in St. Vincent, Italy this coming November.

The tournament is organized by Kentucky’s own Independent Foos=
ball
Promotions and sanctioned by both the United States Table Soccer Federation=
and
ITSF. It is open to all spect=
ators
and there is no admission fee to enter the tournament room. Opening events
begin at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3rd, with most finals
occurring on Sunday the 6th.&nb=

The Blue Grass State Games events are on Saturday the 5th and
include 17 & under Singles, 12 & under Singles, Parent/Child Double=
s,
and more. You must be
pre-registered for the Blue Grass Games (see: www.bgsg.org),
but for IFP events players can register on site. All competition will be on
Brunswick’s Tornado Table Soccer™ tables, and tables will be se=
t on
free play.
