Does anyone remember "Hurricane" tables?
« on: January 05, 2011, 10:29:05 PM »
I played alot in the seventies (mostly alcohol saturated in the bars) as a "younger" man and I would swear the tables that were everywhere were Hurricanes. I noticed the 1 man goal conversion kit in the store with the corner ramps and made me think of the old tables from back then. I don't see any mention of them anywhere. Was I just too stoned to clearly remember the name? Could they have been Tornados? Trying to tap some old memories. Thanks

I do remember Hurricane Table - an Irving-Kaye product. The table surface was an etched Plexiglas which gave it some grip for pinning the ball, but it was a very fast table. My favorite thing about that table was that when you ripped the ball from the defensive area, the ball would make a really cool zipping sound. I loved that table and it's where I developed my 3-man bank. I wish I could find one in good condition. I'd scrounge up a few bucks for one of those.
