What is the Difference between a Dynamo table and a Tornado table?....thanks...
Rob..
-
The reason I ask is I have been out of Foosball for a long time...I used to play on and have and old TS table...Every one of my friends and myself had a TS table in their house when I was a Teenager ( late 70's early 80's )...I just bought a Dynamo Table That is a couple of years old looks brand new and it looks like a Tornado?...The owner bought the table for his teen age sons but they never played it...I bought it from his when he listed it on Craigs List...I paid a 100 bucks for it and it came with extra men , Handles , Balls , lube, a video , and a cover for it...He said it was a high end table and thinks he paid 700.00 for it from a pool table and Foosball shop and the table was a return and new it was around a thousand bucks?...After looking at a bunch of pictures of a Tornado this Table looks the same but has the name Dynamo on it?...Thanks
Rob...

The only major difference is the shape of the paddle. Tornado are more pointed than Dynamo. Here is a pic of a Tornado

You have to create an account and save your pic's to a public server such as WWW.FLICKR.COM. Once you have them saved You insert the address between the HTML code "{img]http://address[/img}". Change the { brackets to [ brackets.

Sounds like you got a hell of a deal.

Ok those are the jonny lott design. Measure the diameter of the rod is it 9/16" or 5/8". Your table was made in the late 80's I beleave. If they are 5/8" you may be able to replace them with Tornado. But I would waite to do that because Tornado is changing the design as we speak.

You got a sweet deal for only $100, the table looks to be in excellent shape.

that looks like a older version of a Dynamo gold medal.. I have a dynamo gold medal about a year old.. The old difference between them that I have found is the men and the bumpers.. However on my dynamo table.. I changed it over to all tornado men and bumpers.. Plays and looks the same as a Tornado storm..

I measured the Rods and they are 5/8 Rods..

I think the guy I bought the table from said it was a Gold Medal Model.....How much did it cost you to make the changes and does your table play better now?....What are the differences from before?....Thanks..

I think it plays better.. The dynamo men were heavier than the tornado men.. So it made a difference in the shot taking part.. It costed me about $150 to change it over. There was a local business that sold me the bumpers real cheap.. Bought 16 of them for about $40.. Then I purchased my men on here.. http://www.foosball.com and I think it costed me about $120 or $130 for the men... Overall I like it better. But I wish I would have purchased a better table though. As I am now getting to be more competitive.. I paid $500 brand new for mine and after everything for changing it over it came to about $800.. Which is nice... You got a great deal for that table.. It looks nice. I would change it over only if you are into the tornado style men.. But if you want to keep the dynamo guys on there thats fine, but I would change the bumpers for sure.. The plastic washers were to loud and to me, it couldnt be all that good for the bearings... I'll try to post a picture of my table later.. I'm working the weekend today..
Happy foosing
