I'm moving in a few weeks and wondering if anyone has any tips on securing the rods for the move. The move is only about 15 miles or so. I will be taking the legs off the table so its easier to get out of the house but I would like to prevent the rods from sliding, or god forbid bending, during the move. Thanks in advance.

If you don't want to go through the hassle of removing the rods, just remove the bearings and then stuff rags in the holes. The rags should hold the rods in one place, and if you do bump them on something there won't be as much binding pressure to do damage since they'll move around in the hole. Or you can take rubber bands and wrap them around each rod on each side of the sidewalls, that should also hold them in one place.

I'd just take the rods off.
It's pretty simple and the absolute best way to move it.
Remove the handles, then the bearings, and the rods will easilly slide out. No need to do anything with the men or the bumpers. Also, this would be the perfect time to clean the bearings before you put them back on.
This way you wouldn't have to worry about damage and it will be Much easier to move too. Plus with the rods out of the way, you can easily clean it, and then once again, you'd have a clean, great playing table.

The way I've moved tables in the past is take the legs off and lift the cabinet & turn it on the side, thereby clearing all doors/obstacles.

yeah, TWIF's way is the best way. I forgot the part about taking the handles off. :-[
