Title: Women goalies
Post by: Old Meister on July 09, 2008, 06:10:47 PM
Since coming back to the game there is one facet I didn't expect, THESE GIRLS ARE GOOD! Now don't get me wrong, there were plenty of skilled women foosers back in the day but they were exceptions and my wife is one of them. Thank the good Lord for her. But in playing a recent tournament I have to admit that the best lesson I took from that tourney was a defense style from a gal playing goalie. No I didn't play against her but took notes as she really did a nice job on every one she played. Just too cool to see that type of skill being administered without any fanfare. Foos is better today on a lot of points. Life is good,,, :)

We hade plenty of good ones in the old days.  Lori Schrantz, Karen Von Otterstadt (Gilliand), Charlene Turner, 2 Kathy's in Dallas, Tina Rhotan and a bunch more I owe apologies to for not remembering names.

Cindi Head dominated women's events for so long that we forget about the ones who were actually pretty good, but played in her shadow.

The modern girls are right there with them, but they had something else the modern girls don't have....halter tops :P
