Original informal downtown hangout, eclectically mixing downtown's professional clientele, students from Palm Beach Atlantic University just a few blocks south, and the artists and underground - industrial - alternative crowd on weeknights and weekends.  The term "Meet me at Lost Weekend" was a call for years downtown, a place to meet and relax, either to play & stay, or before going somewhere else in Downtown West Palm Beach' famous Clematis St area.  And now it's back.

The downtown suits, lawyers, accountants & stockbrokers come & mix, playing pool, foosball, pinball, darts & skeeball with the avant-garde artists, students & undergrounders in tie-dyes, goth leather, jeans and sandals.  All share the huge selection of local, import & micro beers, a full liquor bar, & the grandstand looking-glass view of Dr. Feelgood's main bar and dance floor below.  The jukebox, retro video games & pinball machines complete this very unique scene.  Art work is constantly on display on the walls, including regular spots for new & upcoming artists.

For those who like to look & be seen, the continuous weekend flow, back and forth, of Dr. Feelgood's clientele downstairs & Lost Weekend upstairs will soon extend to Monarchy, a House & Techno bar in the adjacent suite upstairs, right across from Lost Weekend. You might see co-owner Vince Neal of Motley Crue fame & friends downstairs, or you might see Lars Ulrich or super comedians John Pinette & Harlan Williams, all Lost Weekend veterans.  They are all locals, and you might even recognize Rod Stewart or ex Rachel Hunter with her three co-SouthBeach supermodel club owners, and even a guy name Sly and his former partner Arnold come in their custom Hummers, but that governorship kinda makes them kinda rare nowadays.

Adjacent Rapoport's outstanding dining restaurant opens in October 08, although it's already been supplying first class food service to both Lost Weekend and Dr Feelgood's.  An eclectic arts beer bar, a rock & roll dance club, a house & techno discotheque, and a first class restaurant, all within footsteps of each other, all in the same building!!  It's a shot of that New York Manhattan scene in a relaxed, LA Hollywood atmosphere, with a ton of South Beach flair & culture you will not, cannot, see anywhere else.

Yes, but only pickups... the place is packed Thurs through Saturday nights, often way too packed and hot.  I run the $100 noentry 8ball tournaments on Monday nights, so I'm there, and usually 2 or more decent players who come to also play pool, or with their friends that play pool. Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesday nights are much quieter because it's summer, but start picking up again in September.  During season several players from the surrounding restaurants and clubs get there after 10pm or so.

Sorry for all the questions how about Friday nights? Also, can you recommend a local sports store that carries Foosball gloves or a good website that sells a good pair of gloves? I checked Dicks sporting goods and they didn't have anything for foosball. Thank you

Hector

Gloves..... Hector, are you a Euro-style or South American style player?  Many Euro style players and some old old oldschool TS and wood-handled Dynamo players still use gloves for the fingertip control from when they started playing.

Most modern (North American Tornado) players that use grip accessories nowadays use either thicker tennis-style or raccquetball-style grips made of 1 mm synthetic rubber wraps or thinner, tackier ones that they wrap on the wooden handles, very much like the tape that pro baseball players use on their wooden bat handles, or the tape grips that any and all serious hockey players use on their own sticks.

These wraps cost about $1 to $3 each, sold in sets of 3 all the way up to a gross of 144 on this board.  I believe Jim on this board sells MasterWraps and other similar brands, and there are certain MasterWraps designed or selected specifically for foosball, called TTR's (after three world champions' initials)   Don't quote me on the price...  You can also buy Wilson or Ektelon or Prince tennis wraps in sets of 1, 2 or 3 for similar prices at any tennis racquetball section of your local Wallyworld, Target, Sears-KMart, Sports Authority, Champs sporting goods.  You can also get cabretta-leather golf gloves(thinner and tackier with more feel) or the more durable batting gloves (the pro ones built more for wood bats, not aluminum) in the same or nearby sections.  It's harder to get a righthanded golfglove, although the batting ones usually come in pairs. These can cost anywhere from $5 to $15, and you can look them all up online.
