Title: warrior men on a tornado table
Post by: marty on December 28, 2008, 01:39:57 PM
hello there just was wondering is it possable to put warrior men on a tornado table
i think it would be cool if ya replaced all the yellow men with warrior men for practice
mainly for when your by your self you could use warrior balls on your yellow side
and tornado balls on the black side our go as far as replace the the rods , handles
to warrior on one side of course you would still have the playfield , side strips ,
that would be tornado . any way just wondering if it could be done ,

Sounds like a pain in the *ss!  You could order the men and tear apart the rods and men on either yours or your friend's Tornado.  You'd have too no fun, though, taking off and replacing at least 10 men on the 2bar, 5bar,  & 3bar, although the goal rod probably won't need replacement.   This should only be done on a spare old beatup Tornado, keeping the good one for real practice before a Tornado event, or at least for locals.  That modified Tornado will prolly only be useful for singles practice afterwards, of course.  Although doubles with that table would have to be pretty unique.  And it wouldn't be the same if you didn't replace at least the 2bar, 5bar, & 3bar with solid rods, to at least approximate the equal Warrior feel.   Sounds like a lot of too much effort, but if you or somebody did it, the results would be pretty cool.

Even if you replaced all of the men on Tornado with Warrior men, it would not play anything like a Warrior table. The playing surface itself is so different, not to mention the weight of the table, and the rod difference makes the two tables quite different.
I wouldnt waste my time...

Besides, the men are actually the only thing on the two tables that play somewhat alike... If you are set on practicing on a Warrior and dont have one... just use a Warrior ball on the Tornado table, it is about as close as you are gonna get.
