OK so I used to play Foosball back in the seventies in the local pubs and had a lot of fun with it back then. Now I want to get a table for the home so my kids and I can play. I know it will be used so where do I get in? I guess the really cheap sub $200 tables will be something that we would outgrow but how much to spend and which to start with is my question. Anything over $500 would be a tough sell to the wife. I have seen the tornado thunder advertised under $500 any thoughts?
Thanks for any help
PJB
PS. Anyone know what tables where used in the bars back then? They made such a great sound, kind of a hollow metal sound.

There are several threads here already, including reviews of the Tornado table.
Read them all, and check out the links, a lot of them from Craig's list that they contain.
Browse through the half dozen or so most recent threads asking help on selecting and buying a table.
Late 70's what? Early, mid, late? And what region were you in?

Thanks, will check out the threads.
I played in the late seventies on Long Island NY.

In Levittown, or at the Foos Palace?

I just got a tornado coin op used for $ 550.00 (craigslist)
At first my wife thought it was a bit high but the "buy junk twice or buy quality once" argument won.
Now I catch her downstairs practicing on her own.
From what I understand the 550 is the high end for what I got, still very happy
The kids love it.

Took a little patience before a good one showed up. Checked every day.
