Title: Best way to transport a table
Post by: oven09 on January 07, 2009, 01:38:36 PM
Hey everyone!  I'm new to this board and in need of some advice.  I have two tables that I need to ship from CA to NY without giving it to some hack movers.  Does anyone have any recommendations? Please and thanks.

Depends on what kind of table.  If it is a tornado then you have some options.
1st option:
Did you know on a Tornado split top coin-op you can remove all the rods by taking off the handles and bearings.  Then  take off the legs and store them inside the cabinet. I beleave the rods will fit also.  Remove the score keepers and you have a square box.  If your moving 2 tables you can wrap both in heavy card board and place on a pallet for shipment.

2nd option:
Find your local distributor and see if you can buy the shipping boxes from a new table.  Going rate is about $30 each for split top coin-op boxes. Using these boxes the cost of shipping will be less and the odds you will get your tables accross country with out damage a lot better.

good luck
