Title: Recommendations for table with telescoping rods.
Post by: PNW on January 09, 2009, 08:16:06 PM
I use to play foosball (non-tourneys) in university.  Please don't ask what tables I use to play on.  I dont remember.  Would like to get back into it now.  Lots of old friends at similar or better levels (also non-tourneys).  I am not planning on entering any tourneys, but would like to have Guys Foosball Nights once in a while.  However, I have young kids around and will be letting them play as well (not during Guys Nights), but concerned with safety overall.  I'd rather not customize the table/rods.  Would rather have an out-of-the-box experience.  Looking at a budget of $300-1000.  Thanks for your replies.

Where do you live? This is probably an important question for anybody to help track you down a table. With a budget of that range I think a coin-op of some sort will be your best option.

Live in Vancouver, BC, Canada.  Home of the 2010 Winter Olympics.  The biggest constraint is shipping charges.  I may buy local.  Thanks.

Isn't Moya from Vancouver?  Lots of players in Seattle, too.  Surely, you should be able to find someone to help out.

Also call Canadian Amusements, in Burnaby. A few of us have bought our Tornado's through them. It seems they carry Roberto Sport, too.

Thanks, Van_Can_Foos.  I'll start with Canadian Amusements this week.  I've seen a few Roberto Sport coin-ops around.  How do they play?  Pros and cons?

Huh?  I thought Moya was spending time in Cali.  She was one of the original players, I believe, at Eric Dunn's locals in Ottawa, in the early to mid 90's, before he moved to Vancouver.  But then again, maybe they're as nomadic as US foosers are.

Hey, I seem to remember Moya having a Warrior table for sale. Anybody know if she ever took delivery? If so and she has it in Canada that would be a good table to get for the money.
