I am looking to add a foosball table to our new home theater / rec room. I use to play a lot as a teen and think it would be a great item to have in our rec room.
I have narrowed down to two used tornado coin op tables:

I would like to get some feedback as to which one would be better.
Thanks!

great choice and both are real good deals assuming the tables are in decent condition...you need to know if the playing surface is level and do any of the rods need to be replaced (bent or rusted)...this will help you choose the table - read my Part 4 of my post on buying a table for what to look for when buying the table (it is a sticky at the top of the page)
the brown marble (second table) is the older of the two units but it is the better table...it is an older brown mrbl you can tell because it has metal feet but that is good because those feet are the bomb
if all things are equal, I would buy the brwn mrbl because I think it is a better table even though it is older and I think you could get it for less than $400 - in both cases, go with money in your pocket and offer them $300 and go from there and anything up to and including $400 is a super good deal (assuming no big issues)
as long as the surface is level (and they should be, it is very hard but not impossible to warp them), the side strips are not coming up, the inner walls are not warped or coming off the MDF, and last the goals edges are not "blown out" - the side strips are the easiest thing to change but are $25 for a new set...anyway, read my thread
PM, email, or call me anytime

Thanks Tuna!
I have read your thread and it helped me narrow it down to both these units. They both appear to be in good condition. Can't wait to hear the ting of a well struck shot again:) Will let you know what I end up with.
Thanks!

Hi,
Consider yourself fortunate that you have good tables at great pricing in your area to choose from.
In my area, the coin ops rarely are seen at the $400 level.
Here is what is available today:
http://denver.craigslist.org/bfs/1244569149.html $675
http://denver.craigslist.org/spo/1276808617.html $1000
Here is lesser price but the ad uses a stock photo from the internet (not the actual photo)...

If your tables are level in good shape, I would be on my way with cash and a helper to move!! ;D
PS what is the best way to test the playing surface for level? Can you tell by playing? Or do you get a small bubble level?
Thanks

you can use a level but the easiest thing to do is to use a ball and roll it here and there, try setting it up in a pull, push, pullkick, pushkick on the 3 rod and 2 rod...hand roll it slowly from along the 5 bars, etc, etc
you should be able to tell the difference between the table itself being level and the surface...you may want to try and level the table first using a level and getting the feet right - this takes 10 to 20 minutes depending on the table, surface it sits on, and if you have help
with that said, the only warped surfaces i have fun into were the middle to late run metal wrap T2000's...none of the previous models ever had a manufacturing issue with this so it would take tons of moisture over a long period of time to warp an earlier model
no easy way, but first ask, then test
