Ready protocol correctly done,so ball in play under 5bar. Ball stopped between near wall & nearest 5bar figure (51). figure 51 bounces ball against near wall one or two times (I know a third bounce is illegal) then passes ball which is caught on 3bar. Is the described pass legal or illegal? thankyou

illegal

appreciate it Daniel-Ball stopped between near wall & 51. ball pushed 51 to 52 then pulled to wall bounced once or twice by 51 who then passes to 3bar where 3bar catches (stopping ball for first time since 51 initiated lateral movement to 52). Now legal? thankyou.

That would be legal :D

Appreciate the clarification Pat-now off to practice with more confidence about rules.

Last two, both illegal. Any pinned or pinched ball needs to be passed to another man on the five rod beore advancing the ball.

Illegal pass.
See rule 23.1 and 23.1.2 from the ITSF Rule book:
23.1 A ball which is advanced from a pinned or stopped position on the five-man rod cannot be
directly caught on the three-man rod of the same team regardless of whether or not the ball is
touched by the opposing five-rod. The ball must touch at least two player figures prior to
advancing to legally be caught on the three-man rod. A pinned ball is one that is pinned to the
wall or playfield.
23.1.2 A ball that is briefly stubbed or pinched to the playing surface and
immediately released forward can be legally caught on the three-man rod as
long as the ball touches two men prior to advancing. However, if the ball is
stubbed or pinched to the playing surface, released, and then passed by the
same player figure it is illegal.
If you are really in to Foosball it is worth to read the rules, more so if you are planning on participating on tournaments.
