Hi, so at work they have an old cheap garlando table that I spend my whole lunch hour on. I cant stop playing foosball and just want to get better. The table is really dirty and slippery and nearly impossiblel to pin the ball on and the ball never rolls straight but i still love it!
Anyways - i want to get a table to play at home with my mates. Someone has offered me this table
http://www.bernerbilliards.com/shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=5&idproduct=40
At a really god price. It costs about $500 new so its not quite up there with the tornados and garlandos but do you think it is any good?
I really want to be able to pin the ball consistiently and learn the snake shot. So hopefully the men on this one are good for that.
If anyone has any experience or insight into this table it would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Hard to tell if you would be able to pin the ball well without seeing the shape and texture of the feet of the playing figures.

You have the perfect moniker for that!

save your money and do it right the first time and buy a used Tornado...

the garlando is usually a table with a good deal of control so if your work one is slippery it is probably the ball...new garlando balls or Warrior balls will change the playing dynamic on that table a lot while you work out getting your own
let me know any time if you have questions

He is probably playing on a "red, white and blue" Garlando, the type with the block feet. The combination of the block feet, smooth surface and slick ball make pinning the ball almost impossible. The new ITSF Garlando is MUCH more pin friendly.

don't confuse him Johnny, that is not helpful...Warrior is not the table to buy even though it plays well because it doesn't hold up and they are hard to find...now if he could pick up a used one for $200 (and it has happened) then great, but those are rare deals
the reason i favor Tornado with new players is because you can buy a solid tournament table which you can learn everything you need to and it will last the rest of your life literally...all this for $400 to $700
99% of the time I have dealt with these online, people can get the money they need but every so often, people get so hot to buy they pull the trigger without doing due diligence and waiting to make the right play
you will never regret buying a good used coin op Tornado but many have been disappointed buying these no name off brand crap

Buy Tornado, you will be happy with it and it will last you. If you find a Warrior they are cheaper, but I do not think it will last you as long. Easiest way to find a Warrior is look and see who won them at the last tourney and e-mail them, you can buy them at a discounted price.

Dont waste your $$ on that table. Do what everyone else on this site is telling you to do. You'll thank them later.
