Title: Smoke smell in table

The table I just purchased came from a bar and I am putting it in my home.

Any tricks to getting the smoke smell out of it?

I am going to put some air fresheners inside the cabinet...but I think most of the smell is coming from the handles especially when being played.
I thought of lightly sanding the handles and then spraying them with a sealant.

Any thoughts?

Cinnamon Oil huh?

Where do you get it and how do you apply it?

JustFoosin,

Cinnamon oil is very common and can be purchased at your local grocery store, near vanilla in the spice aisle. My wife said they used to pour some in a short glass and soak toothpicks in it. The result is a toothpick that is hotter than the hottest fireball candy you ever tried!

What's wrong with doughnut smell?


For wooden handles the oil can be applied direct and then seal with plastic wrap till it soaks in.

For the inside of the cabinet , just drip a few drops in each corner.

Well, the problem for me is that doughnuts helped turn my 6 pack abs from 20 years ago into a keg! What's your excuse?! LOL.

Get rid of the wood handles and get the new ones. While you are at it get some of the new side strips too.

How come noone ever asks about getting rid of either a "skunky, NJ pine-barren or BC wilderness" smell out of the table?  Or perhaps a nice woodsy, northern california sticky sap kinda smell?  Cinnamon oil, eh?  Would that fool one of dem damn dogs?

If you got the table from a bar then I imagine it was a coin-op version...  So just prop open the top and fill it with potpourri, OR you can do what hotels do when people smoke in their rooms and use an ionizer.
