Title: Need to know the name.....

of the item used to "muffle" the sound of balls entering the goal.  Any info is appreciated.

I usually line my goals (as well as all along the ball 'shute' and ball tray) with thin styrofoam padding (which can be had at any hardware store) using two sided tape.  It doesn't obstruct the ball within the goal and works well to muffle the noise (and I think I have a pretty loud shot).  You'd be surprised how thin the padding can be in order to make a significant reduction in noise.
