Title: Tornado thin-walled bearings
Post by: kgstewar on October 08, 2012, 10:09:46 PM
Hi all,

I am planning on replacing the bearings on my circa 2003 coin-op Tornado with the new thin walled bearings and here is my question:

Can I use my existing hex nuts with the new bearings (they are in fine shape) or do I need to buy new hex nuts along with the bearings.

Thanks!

Kevin

While you're at it, you might want to think about replacing the side strips. It makes a huge difference in passing down the wall. It also is more fun for banking from the back. I did it for both of my tables. It's not to hard.

Thanks Jeron and Chaggy.

Chaggy, I had thought about changing the sidestrips. Do you just pry up the old ones? Are the new strips adhesive backed?

Thanks!

Kevin

Yeah pull up the old strips. If there is glue or residue left over you need to get it off. Rubbing alcohol and elbow grease did the trick for me. Once all that is off, the new strips are pretty easy to put on as they have adhesive attached.
