So, I have a Dynamo Gold Medal table that I bought off of Craigslist last year, in great condition, for $50. I know its an older model because the men attach to the rods using a bolt rather than a roll pin. Can I put Tornado men on these rods even though they use roll pins instead of bolts?
I actually love the way the Dynamo men play, they seem to give much better front pin control than the Tornado men, I can do euro pin shots all day with no spray on this table, whereas on a Tornado a euro pin shot to the push side seems near impossible to pull off. However, whenever I play with anybody it is either at a bar or at my office, where there are Tornado tables.
I am starting to feel, since I only ever use my home table for practice, that perhaps I should be practicing with Tornado men since that's what I always come across "in the wild."
I "could" buy a Tornado table, but since I only sunk $50 (plus about $10 for some new Tornado balls) into a high quality, sturdy cabinet, I'd much rather just pay the expense to switch out the men if I can get away with it.

I've never tried this, but I would suspect that the bolt holes are a larger diameter than the roll pins so the Tornado men would not attach snugly. The roll pins are pretty small...

Hrm,
I was afraid of that, I looked at buying new rods, but all said and done after 26 counterbalanced Tornado men and 8 rods, perhaps its best to just wait for a good deal on a table or a "parts table" to pop up on Craigslist.
