Question for you T-3000 (or commercial rod) owners. I recently upgraded to heat-treated commercial T-3000 rods and they are a huge improvement over my previous 20 year old, bent rods. I have noticed, however, that they make sounds (a sort of buzzing noise akin to running your fingernail over a ribbed surface) and aren't quite as slick as the old rods - even when lubricated.
Do either of these things change over time?

I can't speak to purchasing those rods specifically but what you describe sounds like the noise that a new or barley used table makes which does lessen over time. I could be wrong, perhaps the sound I am thinking of is from new bearings. I'm sure you are using silicon.

I actually posted the same question about a new rod put on my blondie. It makes the same sound you were talking about and appears to have a slight texture to it. The sound has, very slowly, been diminishing. Good to know its normal.
