Title: Upgraded Parts
Post by: waterprosurge on January 27, 2021, 05:23:11 PM
I know from reading different threads on here that the men (bigger grip area) and the side wall trim (white to clear) were updated around 2009.  I'm curious, were those the only updates or did the bumpers and split-bearings change during this time as well?

I think so plus the plastic handles,  the score and game counters too for a short period of time, then back to wooden score beads

Tornado did move to a thinner bearing but do not know when that happened. Besides the bigger grip area the new guys have sharper edges on foot for hitting angles. The clear trim is thinner than the white ramped trim and the ball has less vertical bounce when coming off the wall. The new handles are definitely worth it IMO... I dont always use wraps though.

Bumpers never changed. Thinner bearings changed around the same time as everything else.
