The UK scene is poor, whats happened is very sad! 20 years ago there was a league in every town now there are only 8-10 regular haunts in the whole of the UK (except for 2 uni's but these are exclusive).
For a decent competative match i have to drive 75 miles each way, a trip i make once every 2 weeks. The standard at these places is good, (good for UK). The british have a very poor attitude to anything like foosball in a pub. Take my local for example, when i began i was poor, over 5 months i became much better and none of the locals or my friends could beat me, instead of practicing, they just didnt want to play. That im affraid is the british all over. Poor attitude to anything that requires commitment or hard work.
On a positive note I as a committee member of the BFA (British Foosball Association) have set up the BFA National League which plays these teams against each other, the take up rate has been good and other teams have now started to appear from places previously unknown.

There were absolutely no tournaments in CT when I got involved in foosball 2 years ago. So I started it myself. I throw a tournament once every 6 weeks and I make arrangements for people to get together and play pick-up games once a week.

New Hampshire, you can now play DYP on Friday nights at 8 pm, or Sundays at 1 pm, at Slammers Sports Bar, Bedford NH. 2 new tables, great food, live bands, and lots of friendly foosers.
