hello say have been working on shooting front pin shots from forword when i shoot
it hard on the pull side some times i move the table is this considered jarring ?
-
marty, my tornado rule book states that yes that would be illegal
-
It may or may not be a jar.
A jar is any movement of the table that would jeopardize the opponents possesion of the ball.
So it is really a judgement call.
How much does the table move? Are we talking legs up off of the foolr move, or are we talking table wiggles a little bit move?

no just a little to side mainly due to my table, tornado coin opp 2000 sits
on a slick lanolam floor if it was on carpet it would'nt move at all. but was just wondering how it would rule thanks

That would probably NOT be considered a jar. I would suggest putting something between the table feet and the floor so that the table doesn't move as easily. The no skid stuff used to line drawers and shelves is cheap and readily available at your neighborhood Wal-mart.

ITSF rules::
16. Jarring
Jarring, sliding, or lifting of the table while the ball is in play is illegal.

You guys dont even know what a jar is. A real players!?
-
Where I play, 'jarring' is perfectly legal as long as you keep 3 legs on the ground. This helps to cut down on 'dead balls'.
I hope this was helpful,

That actually happened to my brother in Vegas kick-off a couple of years back. The ruling was that it was jarring. But I think the judge was favoring Pappas. lol. And yes, He schooled my brother and I hard. But it was awesome to play against a man like that.

I have a related question. In casual, non tournament foosball- can I pull the rod sharply to my near sidewall to get the ball off the far sidewall? Not nearly enough to move the table, just to draw the ball toward me. Would this be considered "jarring" the table?
