I'm playing goalie at a DYP. A would be slop shot ends up with the ball hanging over the goal wedged between goal's side & player figure's back side of foot. I figured wait 15 seconds = turnover (better than letting ball drop in).
Later a good sport/player with experience said in a bigger tournament with a ref called in, I would have had to try to do something with the ball because I could clearly reach it. I've since looked it up 24."time of possesion" & 24.3 "penalty" denotes ball to opponent's 5 bar for serve. I am hoping my friend was thinking of 8. "dead ball" = "not within reach of any player figure". I guess in that case a player may be challenged to try to touch (reach) the ball to see if or not it should be declared dead.
