Post by: Anderson on October 17, 2011, 05:00:19 AM

I think Alan Cribbs is, or used to be, the Garlando distributor for the US. He's on this board, and also runs Bonzini USA.

I know Alan Cribbs personally but I'm not aware that he has anything to do with Garlando.

Hmm... maybe my memory is fuzzy on that one, but I remember dealing with attempting to get a Garlando over to Canada from someone in Bonzini USA; I think they were also the exclusive dealers for JGC's Eurosoccer as well when that was an ITSF table,

Anyways, according to the ITSF site, the US Garlando distributor is now:

USA

Address

I'd start there.

Do I have to pay for shipping also? I live in San Ysidro, CA 92173.

I am thinking on buying an 8 year old Dynamo Table Grey Marble, for maybe 500 or 400. It has the Dynamo men that look like Tornado men. It is the old high end table with leg levelers wood handles etc.

Oh and do I have to say goodbye to all my bank shots with Garlando?

garabdorge, not to hijack the thread, but would you provide me with a quick description of how to perform a bank shot on a Garlando?  I have a newer one with the 'pinny' feet and can't seem to manage it.  Where do you place the ball - more behind the rod or in front? I guess the ball is struck on its side, but do you push/pull the rod at the same time in the direction of the intended bank to give it the angle or is the rod spun standing still laterally?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.  Thanks

I would'nt know, I was asking Alan because I have read that bank shots are a NO in Garlando tables, but I want to hear it from someone that has own one. The problem is in the ramps as I have read not in the pinny feet. I was being hopefull he he

Since I started this thread, having very little to do with the way the thread has progressed, I would just like to say that I found some Garlando 3-rods, both telescoping and through rods, but I finally went with the telescoping because I found a way to mount it to my Fireball.

Now, since I myself am an aficionado of the bank shot from the 3-man position, I will tell you that I have no problem hitting the bank shot with a Garlando-3 and an ITSF-B ball on my Fireball. Now whether it is ALLOWED in Italian rules, I couldn't say, and on an actual Garlando table, with the ramps on the sides, the ball might as well launch off the table. The men however cause no issue.

Watch some games played on a Garlando on youtube then decide...But the best table right now for bank-shots in the US is Fireball...

I've been playing Garlando for about 5 years and can tell you that bank shots do not come readily.  But, once in a blue moon I will hit the ball hard from the two bar on an unintended angle or obliquely on the ball and the bank shot is incredible.  It's incredbily fast (almost untracable) and stays on the table.  But I  just can't seem to replicate the shot when I wan't to.

I too have watched several Garlando vids on YT and haven't seen any banks.  Aerials?  As many as you want, but not banks.  In fact, I haven't seen Collignon (an avid bank shooter from defense on several European tables) ever shoot a bank on a Garlando either.

That's what I though...

I just love the color combination of the Evolution series and the ITSF Official Garlando tables. I will have to buy a Bankable table and a Garlando table he he

I would love to buy a Ulrich Home or a P4P table but they cost a lot to bring to the US. Shipping is 510€ + the cost of the table.

Someday he he. I will start my piggy bank today :D

Maybe you can get the Ullrich Home Model, way cheaper in price and it's shipped in flat form(you have to ensemble it) so it'll be little cheaper to ship also. Great tables, too bad they don't distribute them here.
