Title: Brown Marble Tornado hinge question
Post by: hookbender on November 30, 2016, 07:47:30 PM
My coin op table hinges are mounted opposing each other making it impossible to slide the top off.
Is this normal?

New hinges I bought are same as old hinges and they look like they only go on one way, opposing.

Please, what am I doing wrong here?

one hinge is mounted so "pin" is on bottom section and the other hinge is mounted so "pin" is on top section....

have you taken them apart...i.e. 4 separate brackets?  that may help

2 will have the pins   if looking at the table from lock side    one bracket with pin goes on right side of base

the other bracket with pin goes on left side of top

I may have mis understood what you were asking ...have you actually tried to separate top from bottom?

the threaded end will both be pointed in when together...but the left is attached to bottom and right is attached to top....and top will slide of to left

Yes, I have taken them apart and after reading your explaination I now understand. The hinge pins pointing at each other fooled me. One side the female part slides off and the other side the male part of the hinge slides off in the same direction releasing the top. Thank you for taking the time to explain it! Just could not figure it out on my own, Thanks again!
