Title: Tense during big competition?
Post by: old timer on April 19, 2018, 12:45:31 AM
When I play rookies - I seem to play fine, and my normal game.  But when I play an experienced player, I tense up, not taking my time - quick shooting, and hitching strokes.

How do you guys get around this?

Make sub goals.  Build up your confidence one brick at a time.  Start out just winning one point.  Build up your confidence one point at a time.   When you get to the last ball you will have earned the confidence to make the last ball.   Focus on making your sub goal and put the rest of the game out of your mind.
