Title: Ground Truth - which foosball is for tournament play?
Post by: LewisTD on December 29, 2018, 12:54:26 PM
I've been doing lots of reading, and getting more and more confused about what foosball I should be using to practice with.

I ordered 2 sets of foosballs. I ordered these from Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00577U8GC

and I also ordered a pink and red set from foosball.com
(https://sep.yimg.com/ay/foosdirect-store/tornado-pink-or-red-foosballs-1.jpg)

Which one should I use if I wanted to use the same balls I would expect at a tournament? Why the difference? Is the yellow one any different than the pink one?

We used to call the red ones Crisco balls because they were so slick. Watching the tournament games on youtube, it appears they are using the pink balls. I've never seen a yellow ball in the wild.

Depends on what type of tournament you are playing. Tornado tournaments use pink 5 hour tumbled balls. Warrior tournaments use yellow warrior balls. Bonzini tournaments use the ITSF B balls.

So, the pink fuzzy ones are the ones I could expect at a Tornado tournament? I hope so, I prefer that one.
