Title: New to me Tornado Coin-OP Marble Brown
Post by: quimbola on June 26, 2020, 01:50:32 PM
Hi All,

I just picked up a Brown marble coin-op, it is in great shape, super stoked. It has the plastic feet.

Would it be worth it to do a full upgrade kit?

Any idea on date, etc from the photo?

Thank you!

I would do clear plastic side trim, new thin style bearing halves, and probably new style handles. I think the guys are optional but that might be just because Im not good enough to feel the difference between new and old style guy. The new style guy has cross hatching on the front of the foot that goes up higher and the corners are not rounded as much but the change is minimal. If you want to upgrade guys, you could just do the 3 and 2 rods to save a few bucks.

Play it for a while before upgrading tho and do this to the bearings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRpQzCT5GKs

I agree w/ ST. Do the sidestrips, new bearings, and get some new balls. All the other stuff won't matter unless you get really serious, in which case you are better off buying a new table anyways.

Congrats on the new table.
I tried to find a used one but no luck. So I did as Alaskan Thunder suggested. :)

I live in the Dallas area and found out that their headquarters is here so that helped with shipping.

Keep us posted on what you decide to do.
