Title: 1970's Vulcan foosball table with Tornado men?? Is this possible?
Post by: ryan5068 on November 26, 2020, 01:26:37 PM
I have a 1975 Vulcan foosball table with 5/8" rods.  So I've read the Tornado Men will fit the rods since they are 5/8".  If that is the case couldn't I just use the nut and bolt and secure the men to the rods that way instead of the pin.  I am going to check existing length of original men to make sure they won't run into each other.    Any thoughts.

I've tried Tornado men on 5/8 rod... too tight. Returned men before I broke one trying to install. Tornado rods are 0.620, most would think that .005" wouldn't make that much of a difference but I had clamps pulling the guys and lube on the rod and I felt like a break was imminent. Also made a sleeve to go over the rod so I could use a mallet and pound them on... not worth it. Fireball guys however are 5/8"  but not as inexpensive or as available.
