Title: T3000 Coin Op too hard for kids to push
Post by: ComboTwist on June 05, 2021, 03:02:23 PM
A few years ago I bought a brand new T3000 that hasn't seen much play because the Coin Op is too hard for my kids to push so they often only play once and then leave once the balls are locked up.  Even for me it's somewhat difficult.

I bought a free-play kit from foosball.com and that works fine for the kids but reaching in to grab the balls off the rails is just not as cool as using the Coin Op.  Does anyone have any advice about how to adjust the Coin Op mechanism to make it operate smoother?  I've searched around and this doesn't seem to be an issue for most people so I wonder if maybe I just got a defective Coin Op mechanism.

Grease the channel that pushes the ball trap, all your friction should be in that channel.

I would first try carefully spraying different areas of the mechanism with some silicon spray. That might give you a clue as to whether the problem is the coin slot, the control arm or the bar that lifts to release the balls.

I was having the exact same issue on the used 3000 I picked up yesterday.  Good news is I found the fix for mine.  I opened the top and watched the mechanism and it became really hard when it started to push the ball rotator.  I noticed the two black Allen screws on the back
Of the coin slider were a little loose causing binding, i tightened them and the effort dropped by half.  I hope this helps others.
