Title: How to change to coin operated
Post by: clint229 on October 16, 2021, 03:51:09 PM
Does anyone have directions for this? I could not find instructions for this exact coin slide. It does not have the fillers that block the coins but it does not need coins.

A few more pics. I think it also needs new springs to pull the slide back.

Based on your description I think you are missing a piece that goes on underside of slide.

It looks like I can just hammer this flat flange to bend it and push the levers up. Then I can take the flange off and flip it over to make it free play again.

I don't think i understand what you are trying to do?  Though I would not alter any of the parts...

Bending the flange put too much pressure on the levers so I flattened it back out.

I figured it out. I cut a square out of a soda can with some tin snips. Folded the aluminum square in half and cut to the same dimensions as the flange and drilled holes. I took the flange off and put it back on with the aluminum under it. I bent the thin aluminum metal to put pressure on the levers.

It worked to make it coin operated but the aluminum will not last. I have to buy a new coin slide.

You can buy dummy blanks for like $.50. Why go to all that trouble to make something else work?

I think Bolt is right. You might be missing a bracket goes across the levers.  Are there screw holes on either side?

Looks like someone took the long way to free play. A hammer is not a tool for the coin mechanism! New/used $50 with all parts.  You can make free play by opening and simply removing a stamped part that resembles the letter 'E' in minutes.
