General Chat / Re: Tornado in garage/barns
« Last post by russkris on June 26, 2024, 06:59:27 PM »
If your buddy is thinking about putting a Tornado table in a garage or barn, there are a few things to consider. Extreme temps and humidity swings in upstate NY could mess with the table, causing MDF to warp and the glues to break down. Rust on the rods is another concern. Maybe try using a cover and some desiccants to protect it a bit. If it's possible, keeping it in a more controlled environment, like Equestrian Buildings or similar, could be a better idea. Hope this helps!

Good luck finding one on the west coast.  Used ones for sale are rare in the mid-atlantic region, where BonziniUSA is based out of, and where most US Bonzini tournaments are held.

I do this style of shot on a Bonzini with the yellow composite ITSF balls, and have found success in doing so.  You can generate a massive amount of speed when you do this correctly.

Using a typical iPhone, I estimate the speed of the ball to be around 15mph based on framerate and distance traveled.

While I'm not proficient on a Tornado, I've also shot this shot on a Tornado and it's much faster than the Bonzini.

Like any shot, it takes a lot of practice to get efficient with, but it's much less of a gimmick shot than those who do not shoot it would like to believe.

General Chat / Can anyone identify the model / approximate age of this table?
« Last post by moranchr on June 23, 2024, 09:31:53 AM »
Hi all - new to the site.  Have been seeking a commercial Tornado table for some time.  Came across this table on FB Marketplace.  They were asking $600 and we agreed upon $500.  It's close to my house for pickup too which is an obvious bonus.

Hoping someone can help identify the model and also share any other relevant details about the table (quality of components, etc.).  It's coin operated and supposedly in very good condition (functionally and cosmetically).

Thanks in advance!
Chris

General Chat / Re: Tournament Soccer Table - The Million Dollar Game
« Last post by Lettan on June 18, 2024, 12:19:05 AM »
Greetings!

Back in the day I scored a slightly used Tournament Soccer Table from a tourney in Reno... the table was number 30.  Our family has enjoyed many years of fun with this table.  I recently passed it on to my oldest son.  Son number two is looking for a similar table with the same characteristics... slap shots, banks, one man goalie, etc. Do any of the currently available tables have a similar play style?

Thanks!

NEW tables with quality construction and components that play MOST like the best brown top TS tables would be the Leonhart brand (a German made table).

You can get leonhart men and other parts for tuning up 5/8" rod tables should you want find a used table close to home with decent cabinet/playfield/rods.

Cheers & Happy Foosing!

Thank bro.

It's quite interesting that your Roberto Sport foosball table has a goalie that doesn't touch the back wall, as this is not a common feature. Typically, the design of foosball tables, including those from Roberto Sport, allows the goalie to reach the back wall to prevent dead zones where the ball can get stuck and disrupt the flow of the game https://www.reddit.com/r/foosball/comments/3lp3te/is_it_ok_for_roberto_tables_to_have_dead_zones/block blast

Are there any foosball tables out there that are actually worth a million dollars, and if so, what makes them so special?
