The Problem I had in Kentucky

I didn't have a problem with letting people drop the ball if they wished. What I had a problem with was the guys that would do a quick pass without stopping the ball or waiting a second. I had one pro that did it to me after we beat them in the second game of a 3 game set. In the first and second games he would bring the ball to a stop after dropping it. Then in the third at a crucial point he doesn't hesitate or stop the ball and drills a snap wall pass as soon as the ball hits the surface. I complained and was told by Arthur that it was legal, only to find out later this guy was his Pro Dubs partner.
I think that if you are going to use the ITSF rules and are going to allow folks to drop the ball, then we need to require them to stop the ball in the middle of the table just like if they had placed it there by hand. Allowing these guys to drop the ball and passing with out setting the ball first isn't fair.

I agree but I also think that if we are going to use the new rules we should not let people drop the ball if they want to.

i think it will be mandatory ITSF rules starting 2008 season in January for IFP tourneys,,(place the ball on table to serve, sports attire dresscode for open events , etc) ,not 100% sure but i know the new IFP dresscode is 100% certain
