Topic: Repainting the playing field

Hi,

I'd like to repaint the foosball playing field, for two reasons.  I'd like to change the green to purple to match the room it's in.  And I'd like to put down white lines that are more helpful to the foosball game, instead of replicating a soccer field which doesn't help my sight lines.

What kind of paints do they use?  Is there a gloss coat?  Has anyone ever done this before?

I haven't bought a foosball table yet for this project.  So if one table and/or brand lends itself to making this project easier, I'd appreciate any advice about that, as well.
