That's cool you got to see walt. Good player. Sits his ass in front of the net and puts away trash. Hard nose guy, respect. But he is getting older and would not be suprised if this is his last year.

Will

I'm an 85 also. The dream ended for me when highschool was over. You have to move from stl to get noticed, although that's changing.

Right now I look at Bluenote as already in the top three players at Playoffs, and he is only going to get better. I love to have him show up because he will make me pay for not executing properly, and I try to do the same for him. However with my unique (wildcard) game he will only learn defense and offense against my seat-of-your-pants style of play which only gets you so far in a legitimate tourney. He needs to hit up Stratford more and play against the best that St Louis has to offer, as well as any warrior events in KY and surrounding states that he can attend. I am a good funzy pickup-king of the hill bar player, but I feel he is ready to move up past my level with the right advice from the right players.

Joe, I would suggest that next time you go to Stratford that you pay close attention to Ronnie Nevois, Scott Liley, Dave Johnson, Neil Johnson, and Dennis Regero, they all have awesome 5bars and 3bar shots and you can learn so much more from playing them than from me. Scott Liley especially has dissected and quantified every pass and shot and defensive zone that I know of, and can really help you get to the next level and beyond if you are willing to work at it and listen. He can definitely teach you the kind of patience in execution that will help your mental game, and try to rid you of the urge to just hack. I am too old to suppress that urge indefinitely, but you can easily adjust your mindset with the proper instruction.

Wildcard,

Thanks for the kind words. Friday can't get here fast enough. Have you ever seen the foosball documentary with horton on it?  I just watched it. I figure you've seen it but I'm going to bring it tomorrow. I figure kevin or Tom would get a kick out of it.  Oh to grow up in the 70s

Best player ever?
Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, Coffey, Anderson, Fuhr - all those guys are contenders for sure :)

I think the best player ever argument is hard to define. If you put Ovechkin in the 80's he would be way better than any of the players from that era - so I guess that would make him the best player ever. If you are talking about most dominance over a short period of time, then I think you are looking at Mario Lemiuex, Orr, or Wayne Gretzky. I would say Gretzky because he had a 215 point season - his 5 year stretch from 1982 through 1986 is incredible, he had more than 196 points every year.

Mario probably would have been as dominant but battled cancer his entire career - still makes him a top 3 all time. The most incredible thing is when he came back in 95-96 after retiring because of cancer and put up the most ridiculously high points season in the 90's.

Bobby Orr revolutionized the word Defenceman and if he was a forward he would be seen as the best ever - but its hard to rate a D as the best ever in any game. Its like arguing an O lineman as the best football player ever.
Who were you going to say?

I agree with the fact we can never single out only one player, but in my mind you have to say Orr. Even with two bum knees he changed the way D is played (and the entire sport, for that matter). If only he could have played longer. I am not a fan of the new NHL rules. I Was taught dirty hardnosed hockey. Player today can stand in the slot with out being touched. And I hate the fact that they took the stick out of the goalies hands with the trapizoid. IMO the scores are to high, but I guess they have to sell tickets. Give me a 1-0 overtime game any day.

Wildcard

what time are you heading to playoffs?  I have the day free after two and am planning on going up there sooner than later. Let me know. I don't want to fly solo all that time.
