Thanks for the input fellow foosers. All I can say is the banks are an option, and a good one, but I'm going to practice a little more so my pull doesnt abandon me again. I think I need to make the back pin (banks) a secondary shot but thinking I'll use it a lot more than I ever thought.

i use 2-3 shots when i play weeklies,  but i use what works at the time ,if the well runs "dry" then i swap shots until i find one that works (everyone has a weakness to certain types shots (pull-push, pinning shots, rollover ,etc) ,the mechanics of each type all work differently) and people defense better at some shots but not others , one out of my repetoir usually is effective ,,everyone has thier own preference so what works for one may not work for another

If I was playing more often, I'd probably work on some banks.  As it is, I've had to resort to a feast or famine pull kick.  I would really like to get my pull back, but it was sure fun doing the banks and masse's  back in the day.  You should see the masse on a Bonzini or Rene Pierre with the cork ball.  (still not what I would call a tournament shot though)  I would still take the same attitude during tournaments though and stick to the pull.  I'm a firm believer in KISS (keep it simple silly)

Dan, you did hit a bunch of good ones on me.  I'm assuming you cooled off or did some of the other goalies just block it better?

Foosdragon...It was nice meeting you.  You should try to get out to JJ's or Click's Arlington.  John  and Karin Gilliland show up in Arlington sometimes and David Vick is back into the game so you wouldn't be left all alone with the screaming kids.  Don't expect to see me too often though, I'm about 180 miles northwest.

Blessem...I'm glad you weren't there to see them.  You shoot enough wild stuff as it is.

I now agree 100% before this I thought pullshot only but your right I played in the late 70's through about 1993 and back then the best players shot a pull, pushkick or sometimes a pullkick but each player stuck with there best shot. It's time to adjust to the 21st century so thanks. Of course you go deadman while my nickname is the spray lol

In amatuer I ran into a steam train his name was Shane he was on fire and seemed like I just called tails took the drop and must have blinked bacause thats about how long it took before we were shaking hands in defeat. In open I ran into my goalie from amatuer who watched me all day and did real well blocking me. He was lucky though I stubbed a few and missed a few although he would tell you he bricked me and can block that shot in his sleep the fact is he cant. In his dreams maybe. You heard me Phil (sluggo) in your dreams. LOL Not sure but I always thought KISS stood for keep it simple stupid. Anyway hope I see you soon.
