What we have been told:
Brian Hatton (age 31) is in Kennestone Hospital in Kennesaw, Georgia
He was riding a skateboard and heading down a big hill, He was doing about 20 mph and crashed. He fell onto his back, hitting his head and splitting it open from the top of his skull to the base.
The Doctors have done surgery to release the pressure off of his brain, (he also has some brain stem damage) but he is now in intensive care and is in a medically induced coma to keep him "still" so he can safely heal.
The Doctor's had to remove a large part of Brian's skull and stitch it to his side/stomach to help keep it healthy for when they can reattach it. They also stated today (10/01/06) that they may have to keep him in a coma for up to 6 months.
Dr.'s had stated that Brian probably would not make it through the surgery, but they are now saying he has a 50/50 chance of pulling through instead of almost none.
We (everyone who knows Brian) are asking for Everyone to Please pray for him, his Daughter, Daughter's Mother and all involved.
Thank-You very much for your prayers.

Thanx to everyone who's written showing their support for Brian & his family.
We went to see him at the hospital yesterday and the scrapes and bruising look a lot better - but as far as his head goes, He is in for a very long recovery. Ergo, why the Doctors are talking about keeping him in the induced coma for up to 6 months.
If anyone would like to send him a message for when he is able to go read it, Please send email's to: FoosBrain@Hotmail.com
(Foos B R A I N not B R I A N)
I'm sure he would greatly appreciate any words or prayers you care to leave him.
Thanx again everyone for your prayers and concern.

I talked with his brother Danny and learned that they would be removing his respirator tube and giving him a tracheal tube and a feeding tube on Wednesday. He also has a signing card at his bedside table and a lot of his friends have wrote their well-wishes to him. Jessica has set up a CD player in his room so he can hear his favorite music and Ryan and Sampson put a foosball in his hand to hold on to. We're now waiting on his progress day by day. Again, thank you everyone for your prayers and words of encouragement.
