I am not sure if this kind of topics are allowed on this message board, since I'm a new user and this is my first post, but I must say this is one of the most impressive compilations of foosball information I've ever seen. I'm an amateur foosball player from Portugal (I don't know of any pro players here), but I think I'm pretty good when it comes to a foosball match; I attend high school, and we have foosball tables there, I consider myself to be one of the best players there, but I've never thought that such a great, organized foosball community with such talented players existed out there untill I've seen this website. I'm also happy to see that many of the techniques I developeded myself over the years I've been praticing this sport (I even made a kind of book where I always wrote down all I learned: my strategies, shoots and passes or defending strategies) are actually existant techniques that other people use too (I'm proud of playing the game the pro way, without ever had learned the techniques), and I sincerely hope to learn a lot from you guys now I've joined this community. Thank you.

EDIT: I apologise if my english sounds funny, but I'm not a native english speaker like you guys. I try to speak the best I can.

Rui,

Welcome to the Board!

Your country actually has a Table Soccer Federation!

Federação Portuguesa das Associações de Futebol de Mesa

This is a newly formed federation associated with the ITSF (International Governing body for the sport)

They were just formed on March 2007

here is the link to their information

No website yet, but there does seem to be an e-mail address for someone in charge.

What type (brand) of table do you play?

Pat Ryan

I am also interested in what your home table looks like.
Can you post a photo/picture of your table?

Jim

Well, thanks a lot for the reception. Currently, I'm thinking of buying a new table, since I'm moving to a new home, but I'm afraid we don't have all the great brands you guys talk about in the forum. All the tables I've seen here (in Portugal), so for, are made by portuguese small corporations, which don't have the same quality of the tables shown in this forum. I'd be very pleased to post pictures of my new table when I get it though. I think the federation that PatRyan talks about is not much advertised here, but I'm going to get some information about the tournaments they might eventually held. Thanks for the information.
