Cyclone II quality Issues
« on: February 24, 2007, 03:55:52 PM »
After 4 trouble-free years of a Dynamo Silver table, we upgrade to a Cyclone II. Within a week, 2 rods were flaking off some of the plating. After having those replaced, I thought the table was fine....until recently. Now I notice that balls roll out of the corner by themselves, as if the table sags in the middle.

Granted, we moved the table ONCE into the next room, but that didn't cause any stress to the table.

So I went out and bought bubble-levelers. Sure enough, the table does not appear to be completely flat.

Anyone experience this type of thing? (under warranty or not) I am not looking forward to replacing the playing field. What a hassle this has become. Dang...You'd think for $ 1000, you would get a level field, and durable components.

Thanks

I have a cyclone II.  My rod starting sticking after 3 days. I try alot of stuff but it still sticks.
The ball also rolls out from the sides. My level shows that it is perfectly level. I paid a 1000 too so to feel bad. The cyclone is a piece of junk.

What are you using to lubricate the bearings?

Some petroleum lubricants will break down the bearings and turn the plastic to mush. At that point you need to replace them and start over. We had an old cheap table that people used lots of different lubricants on, and the bearings got soft and gooey.

I've used the standard silicone drops exclusively on the used table I purchased and immediately replaced all the bearings. I only relubricate my bearings every 3-4 weeks as recommended.

As far as the bearings, I have not had any trouble with either of the supplied Silicone, or the spray-on type.

As far as the table.....This is driving me crazy. I took the bubble leveler and slid it around the table. ONLY in front of the goal area (up to the 2-man) does the table not seem level. I am wondering if the table was designed that way on purpose.

I am still waiting from a response from Tornado. It has been over week.

The coin op I purchased is flat across the entire playing surface. I have mulitple bubble levels, and the entire playing surface can ge leveled.

I've noticed that imperfections in the ball have more effect on how it rolls than the table slant once it is leveled properly.

The playing surface is about $200 to replace if I am not mistaken.

I've only purchased one replacement rod that appears as good as the originals. I do have a small crack in the platting on one rod between the players on a 5 man rod. That is the extent I have seen.

Is it possible that there are bad batches of rods?
