Tips for using the long "cloth" like foosball wraps...

... "thin plastic coating" - if the brand/style you are using has this protective coating... remove it before using your wrap.   this coating exists on "tackier" surfaced wraps to help keep them from sticking to themselves during warehouse shelf life/storage.    this coating covers the "oustide of the wrap"... or the side that is typically against the players hand when applied.

... "tape" end - some wraps have a piece of double sided tape at one end.   this can be used for securing the wrap to the handle.   if you are putting wraps on your home table for permanent use... then you can use this "taped end".

... "wrap band" - you would typical use this to secure the wrap to the handle instead of the "tape end" when you frequently move the wrap from table to table in a tournament, or when some players on your home table would rather play without wraps, or with different wraps.   (if you use this method of securing the wrap to the handle...  you can trim off the last bit of the wrap with the tape end... or leave it there if you prefer)

... applying the wrap to the handle is a bit tricky at first....(not unlike tying your shoes for the first time).. but is a piece of cake if you have to do it a lot.   there is no "wrong way" to put it on.   you'll see a variety of different approaches on the pro tour with regard to how players apply the wraps. such as...
......... 50% of the players seem to Start at the cabinet side of the handle, wrap 1 full time around the handle so the wrap starts to overlap itself AND hold itself in place.  slowly spin the handle while tightly continuing to wrap the strap around the handle away from the cabinet.   If you overlap it "just right" you'll end up at the players end of the handle where you can place the wrap band, or have the tape end of the strap hold it on.  If the strap didn't make it to the end.. you "overlapped it" too much.   if you have a lot of wrap left over... try overlapping it more.
......... 30% of the players seem to start at the player end.. and wrap toward the table end of the handle...  it's a little tricker putting on the wrap band... but the warp band stays in position better.
........ 20% of the player do things a little more "custom" or "unique" to their liking.   Some folks cut the wraps down to make them shorter and therfore thinner on the handle.  Some folks wrap 2 wraps on a handle to make it thicker.   Some only wrap the tapered part of handles to fill in the taper so they have a uniform diameter handle.

Experiment with what works best for you... what "feels best" for you.. and what gives you the best ability to shoot your favorite shot.

Hope this helps!   Happy Foosing... JimW
