Topic: Playfield way too slippery after cleaning! What to do?

Hey Folks,

i bought an older coin-op table which was quite dirty
so i had to clean it which was kinda hard work. But
now after cleaning something happened to the playfield:

It's very tough now to pin the ball. On the three-rod it's
allmost impossible to do the walking-snakeshot. On the
five-rod it's the same: secure passing is onle possible by
tic-tac because brush passes go in any directions, i have
no control. (It's NOT because of my skills :-)

So i think the cleaner somehow messed up the playfield.
Does anyone have an idea how to "fix" the playfield to
get it to some more grip? What can i do?

I'm very looking forward to some ideas of you guys because
playing with the table in that condition is no fun! :-(

I used Soda-Blast for cleaning.

Now the playfield is good for ice-skiing :-(

Suggestion: Most cleaning products will do just fine, but will often leave a residue.  It is always a good idea (after using cleaning product) to use a mild solvent like IPA, and wipe up with a clean paper towel.  Rubbing alcohol ranges from 30% to 70% isopropyl alcohol and water.

Observations:
-Assuming they are clean, balls (specifically surface roughness) will still have a huge impact!  The smoother balls will actually roll twice as far as a rough ball. 
-The older tables had a different surface.  This was changed several years ago, but Valley should be able to tell you whether you have an older or newer surface.

sup home dawg, don't listen to any one except for me i am the worlds foremost expert. clean the the playfield with a mild amount of carbonated water (soda water) the clean that off with rubbing ahcohol 90% pure or more, don't use 70% that means it's 30% petroluem ensure 90% or more. then put the balls in a sock safety pin it it shut and throw the balls in the washer machine with your wifes underwear then your done....

Buy new balls this will help.  Also I only clean my tables with glass cleaner.

Once upon a time there was a propietor that "PLEDGED" the surfaces of his brown top tables. Wow, talk about slick! Pin shots of any kind were impossible. The solution was as close as the pool tables. Take a few pieces of broken billiard chalk and put them in the ball box and let the balls get chalky. This solved the slick, unpinnable situation. We used brown chalk because it matched colors and you couldn't even tell it was there.
