Here in the USA, most tournaments are played on the Tornado table. No handle change. The jogging suit rumors are blown WAY out of context. The rule is that for OPEN level events (meaning the top 64 teams/players in Open Doubles, open singles etc. are requested to wear "sporting attire". This does not mean you must wear a jogging suit. It means no jeans or cargo shorts, and you should wear athletic shoes. All other events and the qualifying rounds of the open events only require neat dress (clean jeans or pants, no cut-offs, no vulgarity or profanity on shirts, etc.)
The dress code has most recently been "loosely enforced".
The intention for the change is to present the Open events as Sporting Events. These are the best players in the world, competing against each other in one of the more prestigious table-soccer events of the season. The rules are designed so that the participants appear as athletes, not some yahoos playing a silly game in their garage.
You won't get to Vegas and be stunned because you are being asked to wear a jogging suit and have custon handles. If you have never been to a tournament of this size before, you may be in awe of the tournament room itself (100 or so new foosball tables, bleachers, cameras, bigscreensfor watching live action on the featured tables, and so much more).
It should be a great experience and lots of fun. So many great people to meet and compete against, and learn from as well.
Have fun,and I hope to see you there.
