Ideal rod speed?
« on: January 15, 2008, 03:38:11 PM »
if you saw my earlier post, you'll see that I completely overhauled my rods on my Tournament Soccer table. Now the rods are super smooth and fast. However, it's changed the game a bit from playing on the dirty, slower rods when I got it. I'm wondering, in general, is there an ideal rod speed? In other words, can a super-slick rod be a bad thing? Do you want some resistance for better control or something, or is smoother the better? The only Tornado tables I ever played on were in bars and pubs where drinks, smoke, food, grease, dusk, gunk, etc. HAD to be impacting the rods. I've never played on a brand new or tournament-condition table, so I have no idea what they feel like.

Any opinions on this?

rods can not be too fast...give your body time to adjust...you are more than capable of making the change over but your body just has to get used to the change...only problem may be every time you go to another table they will seem stiff but you will get used to that too
