out all wrong on a floor that is realy on level when i got done the table was noticeably high on one side but level, what i should have done was take the feet down all the way and started there and started on a farly level floor but it had to go there do to the light
and not so big of a bar. any way i to was wondering that

It depends on which tournament and which table is being used, however in most tournaments in the  USA On Tornado coin ops, the height should be just under 36 inches from floor to rail. To level the table allways start with the feet adjusted all the way in, make as few adjustments as possible, you are trying to keep the height as low as possible. This is done to keep the table sturdy during hard play.

I am not sure about the coin ops, but the storm and cyclone have a nut on the adjustable feet.  For my storm, I screwed that as close to the top of the foot as I could then screwed the foot/nut assembly all the way into the leg to get the lowest starting point that I could to level the table.  Does everyone leave that nut on (I assume it's used to actually lock the foot in place after you get the table properly leveled) or do you take it off to get the table lower?

Leave the nut on there.  You are correct in that after the table is level, you use that nut to lock the leg levelers in place.

there is no "regulation" height, meaning, there is nothing written in the rules to say a table has to meet certain specs....the ITSF "recognizes" certain tables and they become "Partners - Official Tables" but the tables are all quite different and if they have standards they are not published that I can find
