Adding Bearings to Table With No Bearings

sorry if this question has been asked before, but i'm new to foosball and this site. i just got a harvard foosball table for christmas which closely resembles this one http://www.tablefootball.com/Harvard_Foosball_Table_1.jpg. as i mentioned i'm new to foosball. just something for me and my buddies to play when they come over. well after just a few plays on my new table, the rods are very loose. they move up and down quite a bit. i'm pretty sure it came from some of my friends trying to spin the rods and in the process completely lifting the table off the ground. my particular table doesn't have any bearings. i was wondering if i could buy some and add them. and if that would help stiffen the rods any. now that the rods are so loose, it makes it hard to even kick the ball, because the rod wants to move up and down instead of spin left to right. any help would be appreciated.
