warrior has heavy rods
« on: August 07, 2008, 06:48:50 PM »
Big complaint in Ky ,the people that did`nt like warrior tables were the rods were to heavy, I could not tell until I shot a long pull and could`nt  other wise I liked the table its no tornado but it will do fine when the adjustments are made the wall passes are slugish on some of them . Terry M didnt like the rods either. But for 600.00 dollars I will get one some day .

when the quality difference is |----| much and the price difference is |----------------------| much, there will always be complaints, but people will still buy 'em. i still haven't played on one, but if everything works out (and some of the complaints get addressed), i'll probably end up buying one too.

Alot of the complaints I've seen on other boards have been about ridiculous things, that really have nothing to do with the table, rather people trying to hard to compare them to Tornado. I don't think this table stands a chance until everyone finally understands that they are NOT tornado, nor are they trying to be a tornado knock off.

The complaint about the rods however is one of the few complaints that I really understand. If the rods are heavy players will get worn out faster that's a fact. I'm hopeful, however, that the comments that I've seen everyone make towards the table will be taken into consideration prior to a coin-op being released. I think the ball return, and weight issue will be resolved by simply turning it into a coin-op style table.  The rods.... who knows, I guess we'll all just have to wait and see. I probably won't play a warrior table for quite a while, but I'll definitely look for some warrior balls to mess around with on my table when I get it.

I really do like this table and hope people support them maybe tornado will see the storm ahead and build up some big tournaments who knows,as long as Carlos keeps fixing them its all good.

Haha.... You know, I think it's good for the sport that there's another table out there. It puts up some competition to Tornado. I doubt either is going to vanish, hopefully just a friendly rivalry where both can come out on top. Although that situation might be a pipe dream.

Wasn't the warrior table used in KY pretty much a first run home edition. I read that the ball returns were attached incorrectly to allow for more than 1 ball, and a couple other small quirky things... like one wall screw being 1/2 inch to short for some reason. Seems like there's still a few kinks, but the table sounds legit.

Looks an awful lot like the Fireball table that just came out in germany though. lol

heavier rods will become a non-factor with regular play/practice...the ball is lighter so that should make up some of the difference

most important that the rods are as durable as the heat-treated Tornado rods one of the best improvements in foosball in 20 years...right up there in my opinion with split bearings, the roll pin, and the polyurathane ball

Back in the 70's I kept running into different weight rods on the different tables. I can't remember which was the heaviest but I do remember the torque you could get on a shot. Each rod  weight had it's limits but also had it's benefits. The kids today really don't understand how much fun it is to get to play on different table types and how each will broaden their game regardless of which table they play on, look at Freddy,,,

I wouldn't make that assumption for everybody. I've been subjected to many different styles of tournament tables. I'm extremely excited to play the Warrior table, it sounds like a fusion of the euro style tables I've played and the tornado. I really hope it plays to my style ;)

I know, I know.... I've got a comment on everything, and I'm a horrible troll.

??? Do you really think so? Surfaces are different, men are different, men's feet are different, Fireball has hollow rods and uses a T-style ball. And we're not even talking about colors here...
