tornado tour edition?
« on: August 12, 2009, 04:12:57 PM »
Well I have been looking for a brownie for a while and finally seen one for sale close to me on ebay. The guy has it listed as a tour edition. Can anyone tell me if this is different than a normal brownie? The seller says its worth $1400 and wont budge off of his listing price of $975

Wow, those rods look rusty.  :(
It also looks like it had a big ole padlock hasp added suggesting some rugged bar use. Cabinet looks pretty nice from here, but not a whole lot of pictures to go on. I think I would pass based on the rods. If they are rusty, who knows about the bearings.

I know this add and have been tracking it...this is complete BULL***!  he has no business calling that a "Tour Edition" because technically, the first "Tour Edition" was the Fridge model (metal wrapped 2008 version)

so, this is just an old and not in good shape Brown Marble which he is asking $975 for and says supposedly has one bid but I think that is an inside job and if not, someone is getting jobbed

here is a realistic look at sales...I started charting them last week and these are the ones i had easy access to

Aug/04/2009   Brwn Mrbl - metal feet    $399       SOLD    n/a
Jul/28/2009   Brwn Mrbl - metal feet    $310       SOLD    $310.00
Jul/27/2009   Brown Mrbl    $152       SOLD    $151.99
Jul/21/2009   Brwn Mrbl - metal feet    $425       SOLD    $425.00
Jul/01/2009   3 Grey Marble       $700.00    SOLD    n/a
Jun/17/2009   Brwn Mrbl - metal feet    $456       SOLD    $456.00
Jun/08/2009   Brown Mrbl    $500       SOLD    $500.00
Dec/30/2008   3 Grey Marble      $750.00    SOLD    $750.00

Craig's list, as far as you are willing to drive...2 or 3 hours for sure, more if you like a little adventure

sorry i had the wrong link up, this is the correct one.  Still not sure if this is different than any other brownie as the price on it is way too much according to what i read on these forums.

i am writing an article on this and have checked with Dave Corrington on production dates and below is that information...even if they started calling the Grey Tour Edition in their lit they for sure weren't doing that in first days of Brwn Mrbl metal feet tables

BROWN MARBLE - 1983 - 1997 - stopped using the metal feet about 1988 but continued to sell them as parts until 1996  -   $350-$550

Blonde – 1997 - 2001 This was the first color change at Valley ... it matched their ZD-7 pool table  - $350-$575

Cherry or Mahogany 2001 - 2003 Again this was changed to match the ZD-8 pool table - $550 - $650

GREY MARBLES 2003 - 2007 - $700-$850

30th Anniversary Grey Marble - 2003 release, only out during 2003

Grey Marble - 2004 to end of 2006 beginning 2007

T-3000 Tour Edition “FRIDGE”T3000 – “Fridge” 2007 to Worlds 2008 - $750-$950 – price assumes surface is NOT warped and has never been warped

Late model 2008 “Fridge” table changes (T3000 “Tour” Edition)

PLATINUM TOUR EDITION (T3000) 2009 - current - have no confirmation that this table has actually shipped to anyone
