How far would people travel for foosball tournament in New England? Suggestions?

If I had a weekly $5 entry foosball tournament in Rhode Island / Connecticut / Massachusetts. Maybe near Westerly, RI, Providence, RI or the Eastern CT area, or near Worcester Mass, how far would people be willing to travel/come from? To start I'm trying to get something together at the Malted Barley in Westerly, RI since they have a nice Tornado Table.
Any thoughts on having a weekly tournament? Entry fee? Locations? Format? Any other suggestions?

I’d travel now and again from Central CT.
If you want real good players you need a monthly or occasional BYP at $20 - either per person or per team.
The sad part about the Bring is that it scares away lessers players. In fact the way to be one of the better players is to enter tournaments that are over your head - then strive to improve based on what you learn. Too many players are afraid to go two-and-out. Buts that’s the way you get better.
So it depends on your goal: to play have have fun or to become a tour level player.
The Bring is necessary to attract better players. They’ll be happy to come take your money and will travel.
Also it’s a way to build an established partnership. If two Rookies are playing ranked players once a mont - competing a a major event as a Rookie isn’t so intimidating.
Having lived this in TN, Atlanta and KY against pro and master players I know of what I say.

Thanks for those suggestions. I like the idea of having a doubles tournament. I think part of the problem getting going will be getting enough people to have a doubles tournament especially BYP, maybe DYP to start. I'm going to look more into this though. Also the idea of a monthly tournament with larger pot sounds interesting. For singles matches, what do you think is reasonable entry fee. Also what about formats.
Also I was thinking Providence RI may be a good location. There is also a Malted Barley there with a Foosball table. Being in a city may draw more people.
