Help needed: What brand of table is this?
« on: October 09, 2006, 11:52:50 AM »

I've been casually playing at a local bar for a year or so, and a friend of mine gave me one exactly like this. However, it needs some work (and bearings replaced), and I'm not sure what brand of parts to get for it.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like a Spartan table.  If you can't find any factory replacement parts these should work - http://foosdirect-store.stores.yahoo.net/ts-parts.html

The men are shaped like older Dyanmo table men... actually a very good playing "foot" if the material they are made of isn't too slick of a plastic.

You'll have to send a close up picture of the "bushing/bearing" maybe.... but i'm guessint it'll be a "generic" inexpensive bushing that the TS and old Dynamo tables used......

If it's attached with 3 screws into the outside side wall.. .then this part will most likely take care of you...

Thanks guys, that was real quick.

That bushing looks like exactly what I need (there are three screws), because the rods seem to have some 'play' in them when I move them around (they are lubed fine, but there is probably 1-2 cms so they can pop around within the bearing). I'm not sure, though: do I need to purchase two of these per rod, for the inside only? or do I need something on the outside of the table as well?

I won't have an "exact recipe for you"....
I've seen "generic tables" use this 3screw bushing JUST on the outside of both walls.. with a bigger holed metal face plate on the "inside of both walls".

I've seen tables use the "plastic piece on JUST THE INSIDE of the walls....

Your table appears to have it on the "outside".. is it on the "inside too???"

If it's on both the inside and outside of both walls... meaning... your rods could be "draggin" on 4 surfaces..... you could cut that back to 2 surfaces to drag against if you put something like this on the "inside walls" instead of the bushing = "Chrome face plates" seen here... http://foosdirect-store.stores.yahoo.net/parts-kit-diy.html
