Slippery play field..
« on: February 02, 2007, 07:43:50 AM »
Hi all,

Ive got an enquiry.. My issue is with slippery playfields. I do maintenance/ cleaning work on the foosball tables weekly. We use wet cloth to clean it. The tables are around 2yrs old. Changing new balls will give it some "tackiness" for a couple of weeks, after that, it will be slippery to play again.

Any one has a solution?..

what type of table  if not tornado i read on one of these forms where
a guy sand papered the table then when over it with steel wool what
thought was a good idea

That was me.  This works great, but go easy on it and don't use anything rougher than 220.  Then some 000 steel wool to buff it a little will make the playing surface MUCH more playable.  You don't want to have any sanding marks.  When I did it, I sanded to roughly mimic the surface of the Tornado.  If it's a Tornado or equivalent (oooo, is there an equivalent?) I wouldn't mess with it at all.  Just leave it and maybe clean and rough up the balls, so to speak, if they're that bad.

yeah.. its Tornado.. we have thought of "spraying" the 3M adhesive.. its like a temporary solution. We have changed new balls to accomodate the slippery nature of the current tables..

I guess the best solution is to change the playfied.. it would be the ideal answer i guess..

Ermm.. what about "chipped/cracked goal posts?.. any cool solution for it?..
